Collection rates remain low, recovery systems are fragmented, and most plastic packaging is downcycled, exported, incinerated, or lost to landfill and the environment.

Paper is different.

Paper already operates within mature, global recovery systems (approximately 65% globally). It is collected at scale, processed locally, and returned into productive use. Unlike plastic packaging, which is fundamentally dependent on crude oil feedstocks, paper is fibre-based and renewable – reducing reliance on fossil resources at source.

And critically, when paper is not recovered, it naturally decomposes in the waste stream – without leaving persistent plastic pollution behind.
